Rutgers University’s Department of Marine and Coastal Sciences rely a great deal on technology to conduct research in the Atlantic Ocean. Everything from fisheries research to oceanography, underwater robots such as REMUS can do it all. Weighting at an impressive 80 pounds, REMUS is known as an AUV or autonomous underwater vehicle.
