With grant funding from the BBP, Stockton University created the Tuckerton Reef in 2016 as a research site to pilot the feasibility of restoring disease-resistant spat-on-shell oysters in the southern area of Barnegat Bay, NJ. The goal of this second phase of the project was to estimate the ecological services provided by this subtidal restoration site, with a focus on water quality and habitat creation.
