The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and the Barnegat Bay Partnership sponsored a public outreach forum on November 17, 2015 to share the results of a three-year comprehensive study of the Barnegat Bay. Scientists discussed their research results and how the data can be used to assess the ecological health of the bay, identify stressors, and define new management strategies. Filling in the gaps in research is Item # 9 in the Governor’s Ten Point Action Plan for Barnegat Bay. The NJDEP Office of Science, working with partners including the Barnegat Bay Partnership, developed and funded ten research projects to help address how we can improve water quality in the bay and advance habitat restoration.
