Your Bay – Your Say

The BBP invites members of the community to comment on a draft action plan (called the Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan for Barnegat Bay) for protecting and restoring the bay during this event at the Stafford branch of the Ocean County Library.

All are welcome to stop in any time between 4 and 7 p.m., enjoy some light refreshments, and talk to BBP staff about the Barnegat Bay.

Students from the OCVTS Marine Academy of Technology and Environmental Sciences (MATES) will bring live diamondback terrapins to the Stafford event and answer questions about these fascinating bay animals.

The Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan for Barnegat Bay (CCMP) is a community-developed “road map” for protecting and restoring the bay over the next ten to twenty years. First adopted in 2002, the CCMP is undergoing a revision to reflect the tremendous increase in scientific knowledge about the bay and the impacts of climate change and sea-level rise. Community input during the development of the plan is critical for realizing a vision for the bay of waters that are clean, clear, and safe for people and fish and wildlife.
